The 40 Ton Heavy Duty Forklift is a CPCD400 diesel counterbalance truck for large industrial components that need to be moved at floor level inside railway maintenance and rolling-stock workshops. Typical work can involve bogie frames, traction-motor assemblies, heavy coupler components and other modules that have already been removed from the vehicle for inspection or repair.
Once these parts are off the vehicle, they are no longer being handled in their installed position. They may sit on a workshop stand, a steel transport frame or another fixture prepared for maintenance. That support arrangement becomes part of the handling job.

Once It Is Off the Vehicle
A bogie frame under a rail vehicle and the same bogie frame sitting in a workshop are two different handling situations.
Inside the vehicle, its position is fixed by the rolling-stock structure. In the workshop, the part may be waiting beside an inspection pit, positioned near a repair station or resting on a temporary support.
The forklift is dealing with the workshop condition, not the original installation condition.
For large components, that usually means looking at the arrangement at floor level. A part that appears straightforward in the vehicle drawing may be presented very differently once it has been removed.
That is the point worth checking first.
The Stand Changes the Job
A maintenance stand is not only somewhere to park the component.
Its frame decides where the forks can enter, how high the component sits and whether anything projects beyond the support structure.

Q2. What If Part Of The Component Projects Outside The Workshop Stand?
The projection should be identified before the move. A motor housing, brake component, coupling part or other projecting section may sit outside the footprint of the stand even when the support frame itself looks straightforward, so current photos are useful when the arrangement is not obvious from a drawing.
