How Propolift Tests Heavy Duty Forklifts Before Delivery
Heavy duty forklifts are often used in demanding industrial environments, so final inspection is an important part of production.
At Propolift, testing is not limited to checking whether the engine starts or whether the forks can move.
The main operating systems need to be checked together before shipment.
Basic Configuration Inspection
After assembly, the first step is to confirm that the forklift matches the required configuration.
Depending on the model, this may include:
- engine
- transmission
- mast
- forks
- tires
- hydraulic system
- cabin
- lighting
- attachments
For customized forklifts, the special functions requested by the customer are also checked.
Hydraulic And Driving Test
The operator repeatedly tests lifting, lowering and mast tilting.
If the truck is equipped with a fork positioner, side shifter, coil ram, lifting boom or another attachment, those hydraulic functions are tested as well.
The forklift is then driven around the test area.
We check:
- forward and reverse movement
- steering
- braking
- transmission response
- low-speed maneuvering
Heavy duty forklifts often need accurate positioning, so smooth low-speed operation is important.
Load Test
For suitable models, the forklift is also tested under load.
This allows us to observe the machine more realistically than testing it without cargo.
During load testing, we pay attention to mast stability, hydraulic response, steering and braking.
The test method may also change depending on the attachment or customer application.
For example, a forklift fitted with a long lifting boom has different load center conditions from one using standard forks.

Final Check Before Shipment
After testing, the forklift receives another general inspection before shipping preparation.
If any adjustment is required, it can be completed at the factory before the machine leaves China.
For overseas customers, this is particularly important because correcting a small issue before shipment is usually much easier than handling it after the forklift arrives at the job site.
