The 16 Ton Counterbalance Forklift is a heavy-duty diesel forklift with a front-end working setup intended for large industrial loads. The truck uses a conventional counterbalance layout, with the fork carriage and hydraulic fork functions forming the main load-handling end of the machine.
Fork positioner is included in the standard configuration, allowing the fork spacing to be changed for loads with different support widths. Side shift is available separately when the job also requires lateral movement of the fork carriage during final positioning.

Fork Spacing Comes First
Different heavy loads do not always give the forks the same support position.
A machine base may have two clear supporting sections underneath. A fabricated component may require the forks to sit farther apart. With the fork positioner, the spacing can be changed hydraulically instead of treating one fixed fork position as suitable for every load.

So the lateral correction comes from the forks themselves, not from moving the complete carriage.
Fork positioner remains a separate function. It changes the distance between the left and right forks, while this optional side-shift function moves both forks in the same direction.

The fork carriage remains fixed. When the side-shift function is selected, the hydraulic system moves the left and right forks together in the same direction, either to the left or to the right.
